Bubble King Skimmer Club

I think that a 150g would be a good fit if it's heavily loaded for the Deluxe 200. I wouldn't put that skimmer on a tank smaller than that system though. As far as feeding goes I am not a big fan of running it off the drain because you can get some variance of water flow in the skimmer. Any variance will change the operating height of the skimmer itself pretty substantially. I'd suggest teeing off of your return pump and feeding that way.

This is the neck on my 250 SM after about 3 weeks of not cleaning it...........oh yeah baby

FYI. You want to clean the neck way before it would like the picture, I like to clean mine 2x a week.

The dirtier the neck gets the less effective the skimmer will be

If the neck is getting that dirty, shouldn't the person be setting the water level higher in the skimmer so that it dumps into the cup instead which gets cleaned more regularly?

Thanks for the email re the pump for my BK Jeremy. I only need motor block. Not the impeller.
Thanks again.
Do let me know just on case when the blocks come in.
Thank you

I've got a BK 160, 1st gen I believe. The last couple of days the pump has been shutting down. I've taken it out and made sure all of the components are free of junk and sludge. Upon close examination it seems to be loading up, almost like it sputters a bit. It must run for a few hours like this before shutting down. Any suggestions on what I need to do?

Just joined the club today. I just installed a Super Marin 200 on my 180 gal. system. It's going through initial break in right now.

I picked one a bubble king mini 180 gen 1. It has the rd 800 pump will this work on a 150 gallon sps tank. Any upgrades I can do to this skimmer change volute or upgrade to bigger rd pump like the rd 1000 will it fit in the gen 1 mini or will this skimmer be enough?

Thank you in advance

Both are out of stock but we should be getting them in here within the next 2-3 weeks. We will also be getting in the RD3 Speedy powered Double Cone skimmers.

Hi all,
I have a Bubble King Mini 200 and am having problems with the white T that holds the red pipe that's attached to the main body. The white T has become really loose and if i make any adjustments to water intake using the red pipe, the white part comes completely apart from the main body and i have to push it back into place. Would it be ok to use superglue gel or some adhesive and glue that part to the skimmer body?
Any suggestions would be more than helpful.
Thanks!

Hi all,

ln the manual of Deluxe line it is written that skimmate drain should be permanently closed. ls this a strict rule?

It should be permanently closed if you're not utilizing the drain. Personally, I don't use a drain on a skimmer unless my external collection can has a shut off switch for it to be on the safe side.
