Bubble King Skimmer Club

Hi all,
I have a Bubble King Mini 200 and am having problems with the white T that holds the red pipe that's attached to the main body. The white T has become really loose and if i make any adjustments to water intake using the red pipe, the white part comes completely apart from the main body and i have to push it back into place. Would it be ok to use superglue gel or some adhesive and glue that part to the skimmer body?
Any suggestions would be more than helpful.
Thanks!

Use a little bit of medium pvc cement and that should bond it back for you. Just don't use a whole lot of it so it doesn't get all globbed up on there.

It should be permanently closed if you're not utilizing the drain. Personally, I don't use a drain on a skimmer unless my external collection can has a shut off switch for it to be on the safe side.

Hi, l have a drain nearby to the aquarium which is connected to buildings rainwater drain system. So l'm planning to connect the skimmate drain to that one.

Thank you for your help. :)

"hi guys, I took my pump out for cleaning and having a hard time to remove the bearing from shaft. Any trick to do it, i lube it and try to remove it but still no luck, did not want to try too hard because then i may damage the bearing.

Any good trick out there at all?"

Well right after i posted this thread i tried again and it came right out. hmm weird

I would not do that. If the skimmer goes crazy for some reason (which they all do) it will continuously empty your saltwater into the drain while it keeps filling with top off water. If you are away for a day you can end up with a freshwater tank. If you run a kalk reactor off of top off you will have a ph reading through the roof. There are a bunch of different waste collector with float and pressure switches you can use to drain to.

Hi every one

Hope you can help me:-)
I have at the moment a BK 300int, and lokking for a new one since i am thinking to upgrade my tank to a 740 drop off tank.
What is the difference between the 400 deluxe and and the super marine 300, other then the price.
As I can read they are the same in the intake of water and air, ratet to the same tank size. The deluxe model is bigger, but is it worth paying double op in prize?
Hope there are some wise people there can help:-)

Could anyone point me where to buy o ring for mini bbk 180. Just got mine 2nd hand from afriend it keep leaking from the collection cup.

Hi everyone just joined today, I bought a Dwyer air meter to test the air intake on my mini bk 180 that I've had for a year. I'm getting a reading of 600-700 lph. Aquacave and premium aquatic sites both say 800 lph another site says 1100 lph and the sticker on the side of the red dragon 1000 pump says max air intake 1200 lph. Does anyone know what the real numbers should be. The skimmer worked great for about four months then slowly pulled out less and less until it stopped pulling out anything at all. I've tried moving the skimmer in half inch increments from 7inches to 9.5 inches deep and it seems to work best at 8.5 inches. Only problem is I've had to raise the water level in the skimmer about an inch past the water level limit line to get anything to overflow into the cup(otherwise gunk just builds up on inside of neck). When it was new waterline was 1.5 inch below limit line and skimate overflowed into cup. I take skimmer apart every 3 months for cleaning and nothing seems broken, lines and air silencer arent plugged. Thanks a lot.

Been thinking about taking the plunge for a while now. Maybe now is the time. Tank is a 200gal mixed reef with a 90 gal sump in the basement. Always used an external skimmer so was thinking of the 250 DeLuxe.

Is that sized correctly?
I see it does not come with a supply pump, I just purchased a PanWorld 150PS, could that be used as a supply?
How are the supply connections on the skimmer, could I use a 1" line to the skimmer?

Jeremy - do you have them in stock?

Joe

Soak in a 1:1 solution of vinegar and water, doesn't need to be ro water or anything. Is the end bearing stuck to your shaft when removing the impeller?

Hi Jeremy, the end bearing is suppose to stuck knto the shaft? got a mini 180. Just pull out the impeller and end bearing is stuck in motorblock, could this be the reason it hummed quite loud?

The end bearing is supposed to stay in the block when you pull the impeller out. If it's stuck on the shaft then it's seized up from not being kept clean.

I have a Vertex Alpha 200 cone. I cleaned up the skimmer a while back to soak overnight. In the process, i dismentle the pump and somehow lots the screws that holds the pump body to the volute. Does anyone knows where i could buy those screw? i need three?

Second question, I cleaned up my Alpha 250 air silencer due to lack of air. Once it was openned i notice lots of salt/dirt build up. so, i rinsed the parts including the foam. But now, after assembling it back together. my skimmer gotten really loud from sucking air. I dont remember it being this loud even when it was first set up. any ideas? i dismentled and inspected the assembly several time. Even adjust eh air/water ration on the nozzle. but the air sucking noise still persist. need help on this also.

thanks in advance,
Ed

Hey Jeremy, yes I place the foam back into the tube. But I could still hear a suction noise, unlike before when it was dead silence.

I'll email you regarding the screws. Thanks Ed
