Mine is dosing dead on it seems, and keeps Alk & Cal right on spot! Mine is pulling the solutions about 1' and then pushing about 2'. Only going up about a foot, most distance is horizontal.

what exactly do you mean by distance it can cover....like how far it can push a fluid? or the total amount it can flow in a day?
 
How far it can push a fluid cos I feel it pulls the fluid but is stuck halfway after the rotation ends...

I would imagine 10' at least? never tested. But no matter what there should be fluid in the line after the pump stops. The lines should hold fluid at all times. Whatever it sucks it has to push.....

When the pump stops the fluid stops & remains in the line till the next cycle.
if the pump is new, a quick manual purge will help to flush the line to of any air. Just run it in the manual mode for a bit.
 
The way mine works is that I get the fluid to the end of the tube where it is dispensed and it stays there due to capillary action. When the pump starts it begins flowing from there. I hope that makes sense I don't feel like I explained it very well. I guess more simply, the tube should not be empty when it begins pumping.
 
Ok got it guys thanks..so that means the doser is working.Where is the option to control the number of cycles after setting the dosage..

right after you enter the dosing amount, then next option is cycles..... just hit UP...till the neumber you want...
 
Does anybody know of any online retailers selling them right now besides BRS, Nuocean or TB? BRS and Nuocean are out of stock and I don't want to buy from TB as a matter of principle :furious:. Nuocean seems to have the best deal at @ $299 shipped for the pump, bracket and tubing holder so I'm hoping they get them restocked soon as I'm tired of daily manual dosing. I've been searching the web and can't seem to find any other options besides ebay.

Ugg.. After waiting a while, I finally splurged and bought the BM Triple Doser from Premium Aquatics (only place I could find it). I've heard and read great reviews.

So much that I got excited and didn't throughly test my unit. I left the 1st two pumps at default 40ml cycle at 4 for my Alk and Calc.

Came down the next morning to find the 2nd pump half way through a gallon of Calc 2 part. I instantly pulled it all out before thoroughly evaluating the situation. Later thinking I created a syphon with the tubing to low into my sump. Double, triple checked the dosing settings... I pulled it out for testing and noticed the 2nd pump now dosing low and eventually not being able to pull enough to get the calc to the pump, while the other pumps were working fine. Sent an email to PA and they talked to BM which said it was highly unlikely that I could have caused a syphon, and took the pump back with out any hassle and are sending out a replacement.

Thumbs up to Jeremy at Premium Aquatics. I'm hoping I just got the only lemon. (And I'm ever soo thankful I put the Alk 2 part on pump #1!)

In the future I'll plug it into my Apex and have it shut down the outlet if my pH gets to high...

I have the head unit and add on. I could not be happier with the results it provides it is way better than ca reactor IMHO.
 
Replacement tubes? The dosing tubes require replacement periodically but I can't find any info on replacement tubes. Are they available? What do they cost?
 
I have had the doser since last May dosing Balling solutions and added the expansion unit this fall for carbon/bacteria dosing. It is truly set and forget, and keeps parameters rock solid. I did have the face of one of the pumps come off once but noticed immediately as the pump made a lot of noise. Just fit the tubing around the wheels, reattached the face and all is well. I highly recommend the BM doser!

can you inform me of how & what you will use the doser to dose vodka.....

I've had mine since they first came out. No problems whatsoever. I use it to dose Calcium, Alk and vodka. Very easy to set. If I want to change the dosage, it takes like 30 seconds.
