Bubble magus triple doser

Yeah that sucks, but everything is destined to fail for someone. Yeah, plus always have it suck & container below dosing point and tubes out of the sump/tank water, so no siphon can occur! That is why we need safteys in place. Like using your apex to note if ALK exceeds say 8.6 & to cut power to the doser or a cal reactor.

I also make sure I really only have enuf ALK & cal in the holding container to last like 5-7 days. It's really not that hard to add to the container every 5-7 days. Takes 2 mins tops, and can be easily done when feeding or something. Plus if the doser decides to stay on it won't dump a ton of extra.

If you have to keep that much because you travel, well then you should have a controller and use it as a second failsafe to control everything to prevent these mishaps wether it be a doser, skimmer, heater, ATO, caclium reactor, etc, as these are all destined to fail
 
Oh & I did have the head pop off on me once as I was adjusting the tube and didn't snap the head back on in place right. All that happened to me was no alk was added for a day or two till I looked.

But never had problem prior or since, making sure that head is on properly.

STILL LOVE MY DOSER!!!

I had the BM t01,love that doser and it has a smart system,once programmed,you dont have to reprogram again when you lose power or unplugged. It is fair price and can dose up to three,which will be your Ca,alk and Mg.
 
Been using one since last summer. Purchased from BRS and it's been just fine! However, would have considered the Profilux if I knew about the lowered price.

The specs look nice. I'd be worried about parts availability, mostly replacement heads as they need to be replaced yearly or earlier depending on use.

That actually appears to be a bit more flexible by allowing ypu to pick the times to dose. ie dose ALK only at night so to help balance pH where as BM can't do that.

The pump heads look identical to that of the BM, so maybe you could interchange parts.

Hmmmm The overall quality & accuracy may be questionable.....

But for $150 may be worth a try!
 
I've had my BM for nearly a year now, replacing a calcium reactor that I constantly had to fidget with. I find dosing 2 part a breeze and the unit is accurate. I can hear it when the pump comes on, but it is not distracting. Like others have said...the instructions are absolutely terrible, luckily the unit is virtually self explanatory!

One of my best purchases.
 
In a bad turn of events - my bmt-01 has stopped working, all lights on and controls are fine, pumps don't turn. Bubble magus has not responded to emails to several emails over a 3 week period.

Quite disappointed they are not responsive.
 
Same issue here Blurry, my doser just gave up on me too. Have you had any luck fixing yours?

I think the problem with mine is that the clock stopped appearing and now the dosing schedule doesn't take affect. I tried emailing Bubble Magus support but looks like they're MIA. :mad:
 
Thought I might be able to save some money by going with this doser, however, the more I read the more I believe another path might make more sense in the long run.
 
I have had no response, working on a us number to call. Nice pump, and issues happen, lack of response is concerning though.
 
Haven't had any issues with my unit yet besides one of the heads intermittently separating via clips and not dosing. I think I fixed that by bending one of the tabs to secure it in place. Besides that, its been working great.

My first thought was that people may be having issues in high humidity environments, like under a tank in the stand with a sump. I don't know what the manufacturer recommends with regards to location for this dosing unit but that is something to consider. I would be surprised if they say this is acceptable but maybe they have designed it to be in a somewhat enclosed space where humidity / salt creep may become an issue over time.

This would not be an issue for me as the doser would not be located in a stand along with a sump. It would be located in a separate equipment room with adequate ventilation.

I just did a search on google and tracked down an English translation. It specifically states in two places that it should not be placed in a hot / humid environment.

Same problem with mine. Pumps just stopped dosing even through the display was fine. However when I emailed them on Sunday, I had an email back with an address to ship the unit to within 2 hours. Pretty good support if you ask me. Let's just hope they fix it fast.
