Bubble Master Skimmers more info wanted???

Roland thanks for the info. I've been considering making a diy snapper skimmer using the material these skimmers use instead of a needle wheel, but considering my skill level, it may be worth it to buy the 250:)
I'm looking to skim about 650g, so if one works well I may double up! Even 2 of these should use ~ the same or less watts than a snapper with an air pump.

The snapper and the dart use exactly the same pump volute and ao smith motor. The only difference is the impeller. That is what changes the gph and the wattage. I am building a skimmer right now using the dart/snapper pump with DLS material. I put it on a bucket and the foam is incredible with very little turbulence even in a 5 gallon bucket. The bubble master threadwheel is so simple to make it is almost silly!

How short is your stand, these are like 21" tall.

Ahh, great to know. My stand has an inside height of 23". Are all 3 skimmers the same height? Will 23" be sufficient enough to remove the cup? Also, is there a stand pipe? How do you control the water level inside the skimmer if you wanted to wet skim or dry skim? Thanks Roland.

There is a stand pipe, But it is stationary and doesnt move.
Theres a dial on the output of the skimmer i read that raises and lowers the water in the skimmer.
Its 21 and a half inches high, and i believe you need 2 inches to remove the cup. If you have 23 it may be just a tad too big.
I ordered mine last monday, I'll know when it gets here.
Hopefully next week!!!

Thanks Creetin. I just went to their site and it states you need 55cm for clearance, which is 21.6". This is perfect! I'm talking about the BM 250 btw. Are they in stock at Reefgeek yet?

Hey Micheal
After all the effort in making your big NW pump this DLS wheel is a little diturbing, it so easy. Where are you posting your info on it?

yeah i was going to make one also but these are cheaper than i thought they would be. I still probably will build one, one day in my free time  . But it wont be to save money.

maximus, They are supposed to be getting there shippments in soon. I was told i could have my BM250 in 2-4 weeks from greg. Than was a week ago.
I am hoping sooner than later!

Thanks Creetin. So the Eheim pumps will not be used, is this correct? They will use those italian pumps which manufacture pumps for Tunze?

I cant find where i read that the standpipe was fixed, I could be wrong, I do see a pic with a wing nut on the stand pipe.
Dunno.

Yes the ones that are supposed to be the same manf (Sicce) as the new pumps.
This is just what i read in one of the links provided above by roland, and Oliver pritzel said that all of the ATI's would have them . I think he's the owner of ATI

I don't want to derail your thread. I have not started a thread on the threadwheel skimmer yet. I have pics of the new skimmer body and a pic of the threadwheel. I guess i need to start a new thread on the project. I am building a replacement for the Tiny Might skimmer as a member on RC bought it from me.

Me TOO! I cant wait to get mine. I have been drooling over the BK's but it was no way economical for me to get it.
Now i am not so depressed.
Maybe one day i'll have a BK, But now i dont feel like i am left out.
LOL

Has anybody heard from greg when they are coming in?
Roland did he say there was 2 shippments? He told me he had a large shippment coming in.

I just emailed him, and i guess i am in the first wave as long as they get their skimmers they ordered.

I placed my pre-order with Greg this morning and he stated that they could be in within the next 2-4 weeks. He really didn't know himself. He did say that he should be gettting enough to fill all pre-orders. I hope that's true!

Me too, From what i seen on pics and vids they are amazing! If they get 90 scfh they are gonna rock! I thought 45scfh was da bomb with my beckett.
