Here's a question I don't understand. My Euroreef cs8-1 with around 400-500 lph of air produces darker skimmate than my bm250. Why is this? The BM250 definitely has smaller bubbles and is much more concentrated, so why does the Euroreef pull out darker skimmate? I understand that this skimmer is set to wet skim, but all day today, I have taken off the riser pipe and I still get a lighter colored skimmate. My foam is much thicker now due to the lower water level. This may sound funny but I wonder if the color of the collection cup has anything to do with this. The collection cup is white, so it would seem that the skimmate would seem lighter in color. I'm going to put the skimmate in my Euroreef cup tonight to see if there is a difference.
