Man, that is great skimmate Mavgi!
What is your perception of how your new BM250 performs compared to your previous skimmer?Originally posted by Maximus
Ok, I have just proven that wet skimming is better than dry skimming. I am convinced that wet skimming definitely takes out phosphates before they have a chance to fuel undesirable algae. For the past week or so, I have been dry skimming because I was unable to raise the water level in the skimmer. For some reason, I would clean the walls of the tank with the Magnavore, but the very next day, I could see brown algae build up on the glass. I was really puzzled by this and wondered if it was due to the skimmer. So, I found a piece of spa flex hosing and shoved it in the output of the skimmer, effectively reducing water flow, and increasing the water level in the skimmer. For the past 2 days, the glass has been clean. Wow, I am impressed with the wet skimming ability of this skimmer. Is this scientific proof? Uhh no, but I don't care. It works for me![]()
