Ok, I have just proven that wet skimming is better than dry skimming. I am convinced that wet skimming definitely takes out phosphates before they have a chance to fuel undesirable algae. For the past week or so, I have been dry skimming because I was unable to raise the water level in the skimmer. For some reason, I would clean the walls of the tank with the Magnavore, but the very next day, I could see brown algae build up on the glass. I was really puzzled by this and wondered if it was due to the skimmer. So, I found a piece of spa flex hosing and shoved it in the output of the skimmer, effectively reducing water flow, and increasing the water level in the skimmer. For the past 2 days, the glass has been clean. Wow, I am impressed with the wet skimming ability of this skimmer. Is this scientific proof? Uhh no, but I don't care. It works for me:) Here is a pic of the skimmate in the last 3 days:

here it's about total of 26-27 hour of skimming result :

here it's the flow meter reading from the silencer :

i skim more dry then wet i am waiting for some stuff i order i was able to pull 30l/min but i believe i can pull more then that i am not sure in 100% because i need proof of test and new air flow meter ;) but if i will make it i want to be able to go to 35l/min and skim between wet and dry my goal is to let this skimmer to skim at least 1/2 cup everyday .

again maybe i am wrong but just after i will make more test i will be sure.

Ucandoit, can your source stop using the kents stuff while on tests?
Also Guinea pig is a strong statement.

How does your new BM250 compare to your previous skimmer?

What is your perception of how your new BM250 performs compared to your previous skimmer?

This is a very good question. To tell you the truth, I had put the Euroreef on the market and wanted to sell it after I got the BM 250. Two weeks ago, I took it off the market because I was not convinced the BM250 was doing a better job. I can happily say that I am now fully convinced the BM250 is doing a great job. Yes, it still leaks from the cup, but I can overlook those problems for now. Hopefully the O ring will fix that. As far as skimmate goes, it definitely collects more skimmate. The best thing I like about it is that it starts to skim almost immediately after feeding. I think with a couple mods (new threadwheel material, o ring, and adjustable stand pipe) the skimmer will be hard to beat for any price. Btw, I just put the Euroreef back on the market. This must say something.:D

Do you want to tell Ed what to do and not to do with his display tank while he's doing the testing? I'm just glad that he allows me to take some photos... might be getting tired of me.

Guinea pig is true... brand new "untested product within the USA". The first shipment of owners are guinea pigs... including Ed. :D Of course, everyone really received an excellent incentive to pre-order and tryout this new product.

BTW, if everyone is getting tired of the photos, I could stop. That's not a problem with me. I think we can tell from the first 4 days of testing that this unit does work and it works well. Can't wait until the BM250 comes in now and hopefully it can be tested alongside the ER on the 900g tank.

Wow. Pegging the LPM meter. Nice

i was able to mod that till the end of it and as the space look like i believe it was about 30l/min . after i get more stuff i will start to play with it again , i don't like to buy new flow meter:mad2: but to see where i can push it i will need to buy it.

Well i see the kents stuff is masking the skimmate color, I am not telling i was asking. Please dont take it as hostility. I am not like that.
I dot care if he does or not. That stuff is really like adding kool ade. JMO Thats why i asked,
I dont see it as a guinea pig, But thats ok.
Heres 24 hrs on a 300gal net system fed lightly. Thats 1.5 litres of skimmate. I could get it drier if anybody would like to see.
