..... this is defently a normal venturie with an air intake after the pump. Just look on the picture. Dispergator pumps (like threadwheels and needlewheels) always have the air-intake in the prechamber (water-inlet) of a pump. We started with this kind of venturie skimmers 5-6 years ago (as koraltek mentioned) and this skimmers made a very good job. Later we worked with a needle wheel like H+S, Deltec... and now we are happy to present the most efficient threadwheels. This is the development of our ATI-Skimmers....

regards,
Oliver
The photo that koraltek shared is the wrong photo. The new FM skimmers look like this photo.

U-Can. Thanks for all the pics you have posted. Maybe it is in this thread somewhere, but what are the actual sizes of the collection cups (dia x height) on the BM skimmers? Its hard to tell the scale looking at pics.

i know, sorry about that, i posted before i noticed the other thread with the "newer" new fm skimmer.
well, i'll give em this, they wasted no time changing their technology to accomodate the competition.
if i was ati, i would be a little upset, unless they paid for the rights to use the older ati design.
which brings me to my next question, didnt these older ati skimmers that everyone says look like bk come out before bk's did?? i dont know when royal exclusive started selling the bk's, but i dont think it was 6 years ago, please correct me if im wrong.

BM150 - 6" diameter x 6" tall
BM200 - 8" diameter x 6" tall

if the same trend holds true, most likely the
BM250 - 10" diameter x 6" tall

but one of the BM250 owners can verify size.

WOW that looks like a big rip off to me. That pump looks like it couldnt hold a match to the sicci pumps though.
Imagine if a company ripped off BK that much.
Oh wait someone did from china, An all black BK with black dragon pump amd all.

got any pics? havent seen that one yet. not at all suprising though...

NP, I just wanted to be sure Oliver knew that FM did get away from the venturi style skimmer. That's an interesting question about BK duplicating ATi???

I would be upset to say the least if i was ATI. Yes ATI's were out before bubble kings, and their style hasnt canged much, so they arent a rip off. I never called ati's knock offs. Some would rather everyone think that, and judge ati on that.
As far as i know BK's were not around 6 years ago, so draw your own picture.

I dont know much about the knock off BK, But its true right down to the pump.
Look at the zeo forum,

Wow Michael, that skimmer looks awesome! Copy or not, the black makes it look real sharp! I can tell that the BM 250 puts out more bubbles though:)

Michael, could you list all the skimmers that you have loved, err owned before?:)

truly not a lot :

cs8-3 , cs250 , ati250 , jebo , aqua c . the reason was i have before small tank and i didn't need a big skimmer . i almost bought the BK300 but then i saw the ATI :)

Ahh, nice list. I have owned the Skilter (shamed to admit), Remora Pro, Backpack, ETSS Reefdevil 3, Tunze 9010, Euro cs8-1, and now the BM250.

You guys have to clear up some facts FWIW. The ATI bubblemaster is a newer skimmer based on the fauna-marin skimmer from 2004, combined with a bubble plate from the Bubble King. Klaus (Royal Exclusiv), has been in the industry for about 20 years, not 6. Just because fauna-marin is following suit with adding the bubble plate now doesnt mean that they copied ATI.

on the ER skimmer's i test 3 different pumps : the H&S eheim , the sedra , and the gen x from all the test the gen x work like a beast and everyday i pull out 3/4 cup out of dry skimmate with the meah .

the BM250 it's great skimmer and i truly think that it's can work better i need just more little time and i will know that for sure.
from the last test i pull 30lpm and it was skim to wet i will try it again but when i get some stuff.
