fm is using a aquabee 2000/1 38w. and no needle wheeel or thread wheel, just regular venturi , unless they changed that...lol

koraltek, is your shop going to test one of the FM against the BM? AquaBee 2000/1 is a great pump, but from what I've seen, the Sicci pumps is quieter and stronger.

closed needlewheel

closed needlewheel

From the pics I have seen Fauna is using a closed needlewheel with a aquabee

oops, sorry, i didnt realize they did change it to a needle wheel.
ive never heard of the pump they are using, but interesting "closed needle wheel" it has.

well we do have 2 xtra large aquarium obsessed tank coming for our frag and main display, so i will have to see about ordering one of these to do comparison with:)
we were planning on running the ati bm 250 on our 300g.display tank

i thought that looked like a aquabee pump on the fm, but i thought they were calling it a "jet" pump. and that certainly doesnt look like an aquabee impellar

A little help.

A little help.

Oliver, if you read this post, can you offer some kind of fix for the owners who do not have the adjustable standpipe, it is the only thing that I can say, I am missing on my skimmer, I also wish the outlet was made from PVC.

New Redone Exhaust will be adequate!!!

..... I also wish the outlet was made from PVC.
I've been looking at the new reworked exhaust with my aquarium technician and discussing over the phone. The new exhaust is a MAJOR improvement for a couple of reasons:

1. thicker acrylic 5mm vs 3mm, this is a significant improvement in terms of strength because of the thickness, it is almost double in thickness.

2. entire exhaust tube completely glued to the skimmer body, this is also a significant improvement in strengthening the integrity of the acrylic exhaust.

When the acrylic tube is almost doubled in thickness and the entire tube glued to the skimmer body, it's not just double the strength, it's much more than that.

3. smaller adjustable inner tubing used with the T-fitting takes the torque pressure off the acrylic exhaust when making an adjustment.

Only problem is it doesn't really help the 1st shipment owners. I didn' use the GP word. :D

WOW that looks like a big rip off to me. That pump looks like it couldnt hold a match to the sicci pumps though.
Imagine if a company ripped off BK that much.
Oh wait someone did from china, An all black BK with black dragon pump amd all.

the GP word

the GP word

The GP word is Ok, it is deffinitely been an adventure with these skimmers, my fish were second to my skimmer for a few weeks!!!

I take it that these are the updated ones that Greg will be receiving for the 2nd shipment that will be coming in 2-3weeks?

Yes, but Greg should have this skimmers in his hand next week.

Sorry, but this is defently a normal venturie with an air intake after the pump. Just look on the picture. Dispergator pumps (like threadwheels and needlewheels) always have the air-intake in the prechamber (water-inlet) of a pump. We started with this kind of venturie skimmers 5-6 years ago (as koraltek mentioned) and this skimmers made a very good job. Later we worked with a needle wheel like H+S, Deltec... and now we are happy to present the most efficient threadwheels. This is the development of our ATI-Skimmers.

can you offer some kind of fix for the owners who do not have the adjustable standpipe, it is the only thing that I can say, I am missing on my skimmer,

we have prepared an add on kit (second t-fitting with a ball valve), but we are working on a more confortable solution that allows to lower the waterlevel inside the skimmer without to cut the exhaust pipe. We just have to make some final tests. Please feel sure we will not leave you alone. Thanks for your patience.

Oliver when is the recirculating skimmer going on sell ?

At the beginning of next year. I am sorry, but we are to busy at the moment.

Not sure if people saw this. Looks like a new forum.

I really appreciate it. I am looking forward to support this forum.
Unfortunately I am limited in time, but we will try our best.

regards,
Oliver

For those considering a Bubble Master there is a another new skimmer out that is almost identical to the BM
The new Fauna Marin Ultra Skim

Thought I'd give you guys the heads up.

it's very nice skimmer and look like the ATI there are also some item on this skimmer that i like like the neck high and the gray pvc to , but the ATI use 2 pump and this skimmer FM use in one pump more then that with my experience with the mesh wheel nothing can compete the result of the mesh (in any pump ).
the result that 2 pump will bring include the air they pull the aqua B can't give the total watt different between it's more 4 watt on the 2 sicci pump together. there is one more thing on the ati i am sure that in a short time i will let this skimmer perform better and this i can't do on the FM skimmer with one pump. this is my opinion if we compare it to the BM250 .
