Bubble tip

Today I picked up a green bubble tip. I placed it on a rock and it moved off of it into the sand. It was my understanding that they liked rock. Is this normal??

Did it bury and attach in the sand or did it just fall off the rock and is sitting on the sand?

If it buried its base, that would be very unusual.

Just give him a second, hell get adjusted. It may not have liked the flow and/or lighting where you placed the rock. It'll move around until it finds a spot that it likes. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't find your powerheads...

My wife took the pic it's the best she can do.

Def a bubble tip....looks to be somewhat attached to the glass and not to the sandbed
Is this in the back of the tank? Could just be acclimating itself to your tank conditions and lighting...
I would leave it alone unless it starts floating around.....please be sure to place foam pre-filters on your powerheads just it does decide to float....

Yes. The foot is not buried. You have quiet a bit of big rocks in your sand. It should move to a more favorable spot later on. Don't feed him until well after he has been put for a while and seems happy.
