thought i would clean my protien skimmer really good. take it down can clean the water pump. it rattles and skipps a beat now and then. it was kinda hard to get the housing off the impeller, and getting the impeller off the magnet was also interesting. putting it back together i broke the shaft that runs thru the impeller to the housing and to the cap. its a very hard, thin, plastic type of thing. where can i get another one? and what is it called? the pump has no name on it, so i can't look up the brand. and can i go a few days without the skimmer till i get it fixed? i have a double water filter with carbon and floss on a 90 gal tank.

just buy a new pump. do you know what type of skimmer it is?

Can you take a photo of the pump? Someone on here can probably ID it.
