Build log: My 360G Mixed Reef [56k beware]

Everything seems happy with the new T5s. Halide doesn't come on for another hour.

Thanks for the kind words :)

So I noticed a few spots of ick on my Magnificent Foxface. Not really interested in loosing any fish. My QT is a 20L. I am pretty sure they won't all fit in a 20L should it get worse so I did something that might just seem crazy :D. I bought another QT setup.

Its a 6x4x2'H 360 with a center overflow. I am going to go ahead and plumb it into my display to get it going but will make it easy to switch over to its own filtration should I actually need it. After this is all over its probably going to turn into the next anemone tank . My friends say I have a tank fetish...

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Good news. I think my fish have worked their way through the ich or whatnot that I saw. It hasn't gotten any worse and it seems like every week they don't come back as strong.

So... I have a fully set up and running empty 360. I used my original octupus skimmer that is featured early on in this thread. Purchased an Eheim 1260 for the return. The drain is directly plumbed into the skimmer so 100% of the overflow water passes through the skimmer before hitting the sump. Just got in my autotopoff.com dual floats and have stocked the tank with about 200lbs of fiji live rock I have had "cooking for about 6 months"

On top of that I purchased 200lbs of BulkReefSupply.com Pukani dry rock to redo the aquascape on my sps display. I have grown tired of chasing softies so any rock that has softies on it is getting replaced.

Please excuse the clutter around my pile of rock and you should not leave vortech controllers on the floor. Bad idea.

150lbs of this is made up of watermelon size pieces. The last 50lbs is 4-9 inches to tie it all together. The pile is just that. A pile. This rock is awesome!

Hey just decided to check your build out. Tank looks great. Very impressive build.

Would love to check it out some time. Love the new QT tank as well. I have a 20 long as my QT. I keep trying to talk my wife into letting me get more and bigger tanks. She isn't going for it yet.

I just wish i had one friend that was into this hobby like me. Unfortunately, i don't have any yet. However, they sure like to look at everything when they come over for beers.
