Yes I did QT and add them to display together.
I wanted to add them at the same time to minimize aggression since neither fish had defined a territory.

I added a line from R/O system to my ATO container. My idea was to install a solenoid valve inline (with a float valve for safety at ATO container) and program the Apex to open (provide power to) the solenoid once a week for a predetermined period of time to allow the container to auto fill. Would eliminate me having to manually fill it and yet keep a certain amount of security where if ATO or auto water change fails - the most R/O water that would be dumped in the sump would be 10gals.

It works (still have to fine tune the amount of time to fill 7gals per week) but I don't like that the solenoid valve gets very hot. I was told this is normal, but the fireman in me isn't pleased. I will manually operate the solenoid for now.

Very nice. Keep automating stuff you are gonna end up bored with nothing to do around your tank. Lmao. Is the solenoid in the attic? And also it should be a rule. You can't put up update pics without the Full tank shots. Regardless of what has been updated. Lol.

I'm going auto myself i just built 6 float switches and 2 solenoids for my reefkeeper they want $26 for a float switch I buit them for 7ish bucks each hong kong haha solenoid closer to $10 each shipped from china the molex connectors and pins were ordered domestically all for my mixing station

No the solenoid sits right next to the small chest that houses my ATO

Brians, do your solenoids get hot to the touch?

No Thats probably because yours is 110v there are 12v solenoids that are much better for our application as it is on constantly as open is normal yours won't last long the heat will destroy the seal and cause it to leak in time

I regress the solenoid I have in operation is a Alcon which only gets warm. The hong kong solenoids which I just tested do heat up pretty good. Yea I just plugged them in for the first time and they heat up more than my original alcon. Mind you this was tested without any water going through it which should cool it.

This solenoid is DC 24V (it has a wall wart)
The plastic part is not hot - its the metal part on the top. Its a DEMA 41-9-5

Thanks! I have a bit of OCD in me as well. I want to re-do the plumbing in red pvc and come up with something nicer for all my dosing lines.

Picked up some frags from the Reef Raft live sale a few weeks ago, and purchased a new magnetic frag rack from oceans wonder.

This would be my first time ordering anything online and I must say Reef Raft did an EXCELLENT job packing the frags (14 total).
