I would slow down a bit and perhaps research what you want and what you are trying to acomplish down the road.

Meaning a 265 can get pretty expensive if you don't get things done right from the get go.

Nice tank

Nice setup good luck with the build. If your intereasted I have a old 75 aga I could sell you

Thanks Ed,
I just bought a 75 from craigslist today. :headwalls:

I will drill it and add baffles soon

I may buy the bit and drill it myself. Would rather have glass shop or experienced person do it though.

Sump Arrival

Sump Arrival

Was skeptical that some type of dragon reptile lived inside this tank, but it worked out.

No Leaks!

Testing the fit. Fit straight in the opening, no problem

Skimmer is 10.2 inches wide. Just might make it in. This could be a miracle :lolspin:

Sump Design Rough Draft

Sump Design Rough Draft

Feel free to give your 2 cents on this draft.

Skimmer is designed to sit in about 10-11 inches of water.

I need the water level constant, thats why I used the 1st chamber for the skimmer. Its not set in stone, just rough draft. Anyone have a better idea?

Ok I'd build a separate chamber for the main drain.. Filter socks are ok I used to use them but no longer. Plus you can make the size smaller if you dont use them. I use rubble rock to break the splash and a longer pipe down in to the sump.. . Then the skimmer then the fuge area then return. Also I'd do a triple baffle before the return for a better bubble trap.and remove the triple baffle in the beginning. Use a single piece top to bottom with a 1"-1 1/2" gap at your water height.

What is your foot print for the skimmer?
