Building 1600 Gallon Bioshock Themed Octopus Tank

@dt204 I'll address all of your sump photos as soon as i finish the green marine paint step.
Currently the epoxy black is hard to photograph so it should be easier to see once it's green.

Am I the only one hoping that this is one long multi-year april fool's joke?

Build tiny 1/32 scale fish tank model over 2+years. Post pictures. Make community hyper-ventilate.

Either way, I'm in.

Great build/thread. Encompasses 3 things I am passionate about: Aquariums, gaming and DIY. I hope that you are successful inside the box while thinking so far outside of it! Definitely following.

I can not wait for you to have it filled so all the naysayers can eat their words.

Just filled with a bunch of people that have never ventured "outside" the box and just repeat everything everyone else says.

Rock on!

haha thanks everyone. Ironically, ill probably have the acrylic by mid march so i think i might set the fill date for April 1st just to keep them guessing lol

The 1 year anniversary of the "prank." :0) It will be cool to see it filled!

Ok the latest update :) the picture has been applied and the tank is ready for the decorative krylon painting. The only hiccup I've had is that the led lighting that I originally was going to place behind the bulkhead is too reflective, so I think i'm just going to install a steampunk style sconce on either side of the tank (exterior). The photo doesn't require much lighting to "glow".

A few shots of the top. i still have to silicone around each acrylic panel. Ill then pull the panels off of the silicone which should leave a nice gasket. The "manhole" entrance is the larger opening. (still a tight squeeze) haha

Timeline:
April 1st- Tank gets filled
May 1st- Tank finished cycling
May 10th- mated pair of octopus in and happy
June 10th- small leak in bottom corner developed
June 11th- owner goes in hatch to fix leak, gets eaten by octopus.

This is awesome, keep on trucking and subscribed. Can't wait to see it completed.

I like how people act as if you have not considered the risks, lol!

reefcentral definitely has the most naysayers of any of the forums. haha. I always joked i would take specific pictures just for them :)
