BUILDING A DREAM....SPS Dominated Tank build

Beautiful job bro now add some sps and watch em grow

Hello Noypi,
Thanks a lot for viewing and for the compliment.
Stocking will be the next big leap :D

Anup,
You are right about the progress being slow, however the cohesiveness of this project is a testament to the known fact that planning with a vision yields the best results.

Looking at your sketches and comparing them to the finished product shows your dedication to Dream 2.0.

Congratulations on your success!:)

Hi aquainas,
Thanks so much for the encouraging words for me.
Planning everything according to the space available was a challenge and deciding/getting the equipment I wanted was time consuming.
As iv said before a lil bit of "Reefing luck" is necessary to have a thriving reef :) so keeping fingers crossed as tank is cycling.

Thanks again for tagging along patiently and for the support

This is a 1st class build, I love everything about it!!! Has me 2nd guessing things on my build.

Hello Jaysreefworld...
Thanks a lot for viewing and for the kind words of "awesome" compliment :D
I'm humbled that ya like my amateur attemp at Reefing.
Thanks man!
Good luck and best wishes on your build too....May the force be with you :strooper:

My tank is only a couple weeks old. I've slowly been getting more and more live rock. Any suggestions on Aquascaping?

I like the right side of the tank, but struggling with the left side. However, I'm open to suggestions on all of it. For now I only have one set of AI LED lights. (That's why it is centered) Before I add fish and corals I will add another light to this 48" tank.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Jason

Hello Jason,
I'm no expert in aquascaping myself...but I scaped my tank myself with a vision to create a shallow lagoon look on one side and a reef pillar in the middle. But since ya asked me for an opinion...here it goes :D

Since your overflow is internal and on the left side I would suggest the taller reef structure to be on the left side so it can hide the overflow to an extent.

I do like the "natural" sloping look of the present right side scape with lots of place for corals...that is if you are planning for a SPS tank.

Personally I wouldn't add any more rock...but if you choose to add more rock add it now as the tank is cycling. Adding new rock at a later stage will in itself start a mini cycle and can lead to water chemistry instability.

Looking at your tank lighting with the lone LED fixture brings an idea to me.....keeping a mix of low light deep water acroporas exclusively on the low light rock structure and the more light demanding ones on the otherside....Just an idea and something I would like to recreate in near future (okay hope my wife doesn't read this in the "near future" part :lol2: )

Hope I could help ya with my suggestions. Good luck with the build

Impressive work Noob!

Which GHL set did you pick up? Did you order any more extras? I just got the 3.1A, and temptations abound!

Yeah this looks great! Great equipment and great execution sofar with the scape!

Hi Bello,
Thanks a lot for viewing. :)
I had picked up the P3 unit.

Features I'm using:
pH
Tank temperature
Cabinet Air Temp. And Humidity control
Tunze pump control (on the 10v)
Tank Heating (heater not yet hooked up)
ATO
3 Unit Dosing
E-mail alerts
Web control

Sweet! Good use of the GHL! I'm very impressed with even the basic version, and now it's tempting to sell off my BM doser and ATO and hook it up to the GHL.

I should have picked up the 3.1N but....crap... How are the email alerts etc coming along?

Aquascape looks good, waiting for more :)

Noob your attention to detail and design are impressive! WOW! I wish my ProfiLux stuff was as neat and tidy as yours and I'm only running a basic set-up LOL.

Hi Bello,

Thanks bro! The aquascape toook time to create...they have multiple rocks that have been epoxied together to create something that atleast look natural and seamless :D Bruised n epoxy cracked hands...my wife thought i had gone nuts :lol2:

The P3 unit is one solid built unit....i still dont think i have used it to the full potential. Limitless options here.
I am sure you will be pretty happy with ya unit :)
P3 builtin webserver is working fine and after bit of fiddling i set it up :D

This is how the email alerts look like...shows info on pretty much everythin iv hooked up with the P3

Looks good! I wanna see that skimmer running.

Hi Gadgets,

Thanks :)

The skimmer is still breaking in and overflows with the slightest change. But it is already pulling out "brown water."
Its really quiet and its running fully open as of now. I am waiting for it to get settled in and start doin its job.

Very clean! Looks good! Is the the other input on the skimmer pump for ozone?

Hi Gadgets,

Thanks a lot for the kind words.
Looks clean now and the challenge will be to keep it that way :D
I guess a successfull SPS tank requires a detritus free setup so another chore added to the maintenance list :)
