BUILDING A DREAM....SPS Dominated Tank build

isn't it funny that when you dont do it right the first time it eats you away because looking at the same tank for such a long time red flags the small details that need to be improved. I just think its silly that people don't do it right the first time and your signature says it all!!

Hi SneekaPeek,
Thanks a lot for viewing my thread.
I do agree with ya...but it's never easy no matter how experienced you are to get everything right from the word go. Our hobby challenges us a lot. So no matter how much you plan there will be always something you feel can be tweaked or done better. To be honest that's what hooks me to this wonderful hobby it tests us and never gets boring :)
I can never claim I did it right...but I can only try :)

Hi SneekaPeek,
Thanks a lot for the compliments and for following my thread.
As I said it feels great when your peers appreciate the effort :)

Profilux e-mail alert...

Iv setup the Profilux to send me regular email alerts. I wouldn't say it was a breeze to set it up but got it to work finally :D

hi rlpardue,
Yep...i have been waiting around to see how FWS was and if it did produce any advantage. I have generally got positive feedback on FWS and it is suppossed to work better with Coral Booster. So i will give FWS a shot coz the people that have used it said it does give the SPS a "plump" and healthy look. But yet no evidence it kills Flat worms.
I think its more of a "prevention is better than cure" kinda thing. You improve the resistance of the coral and it can fight back against the pest.
I will keep you guys posted....

I would just use a qt tank for prevention. Saying "prevention is better than a cure" backs that thought up. Obviously fws is not prevention and is more of a "cure". If they are healthy from the time you put them in the tank you don't have to worry about anything. And you don't have to spend that much money on bottles of the stuff just to make your acros look plump and healthy.

Hi Piper27,
Thanks a lot for viewing my thread.
I do not have QT setup. Mainly because of space constraints.
Now this is not bcoz I don't condone it...but bcoz I have a reliable LFS where I take my live stock (fish and corals) to and keep on QT before I transfer to my tank. They are meticulous in the way they dip and quarantine their shipment.
As a second precaution I will be dipping my SPS before they go in my tank.
Now why FWS? I was skeptical about this product...but after waiting for feed back on it and getting positive reviews I thought I will give it a shot.
I totally agree with ya...that when a healthy coral goes into the system it has a better chance to thrive even without FWS. I chose this as its something to do see for myself if it gives the results in improving a coral.
Iv seen some Zeovit products doing wonders in one particular tank and the same product not doing much in another tank. This is my first attemp at a Zeovit tank so I'm not sure what will be the right combo for my tank. Only time will tell :)
Thanks again for the input and I do value your suggestion. If FWS doesn't show any marked advantage I will not be continuing that product.

Really excited to see that zeo reactor in action. Is the pump on the bottom just gonna pump water through the bottom and stir up the stones?

Hi karsseboom,
Thanks for viewing my thread.
I am just waiting for my tank parameters to stabilize and get it to the optimum for Zeo dosing. All parameters are almost OK except for pH and Alk which are bit on the higher side for my liking.
Once that's done il be starting up ZeoMATE.
Regarding the pumps of ZeoMATE....there are two pumps connected to it. Once is the feed pump and the other is a more powerful agitator pump for stirring the stones.

Thank You... :)

Dear friends,
I wanna take this opportunity to express my gratitude to one and all for viewing, following my thread. I am very fortunate to have the support of you guys and for inspiring and motivating me to continue on this "DREAM" journey.
I have reached the stage of testing and tweaking my tank parameters. So far so good.
Since the progress has been slow and updates spread out I wanted to present a photo update condensing the relevant build info :)

Thanks again....and looking forward to hear from you all
