Wow!!! Looking great!!
Hi Rogerh,
Thanks a lot for the kind words :)

Hi leveldrummer,
This really cracked me up :lol2:
Hahaha I've seen the movie too.
Thanks a lot for the motivation!

Very well done, future TOTM for sure.
Hi mark54321,
Thanks a lot for the encouraging words.
I am not even close to the great reef tanks out there.

Tank is looking awesome! Everything is filling in nicely. Great job
Hi tmc1313,
Thanks a lot for viewing and the kind words.
I'm waiting for them to keep growing and see how it ends up. It's like a puzzle :)

On the right side, how close is the vortech to the corals? And what mode are you running them in?

I notice the corals in my tank don`t like to be to close to the vortechs.

Hot damn i love your reef mate. The colors are beautiful and i'm always in awe of the layout of your rock work. It's clear to see that you not only think about growth patterns but also contrasting coral colors when adding new pieces.
You may not know a lot about power tools buddy but you sure as s**t know how to create and grow out an eye bleeding SPS display lol. If i wasn't going with my SSC tabling dominant layout on the big tank i'd definitely be PM'ing you for advice on how to build similar rock structures, the whole thing is just awesome and all i can think of is bonsai rock plantings when i look at your tank. Anyone stuck for ideas on their rock layouts should just google bonsai pics for inspiration, the two hobbies are a great deal more similar than most realise.....

Btw, great work on the pics under LED's, i know how hard it is to capture images well under those bloody things lol. :uhoh3:

Now, onto serious scientific stuff. All my monti's have next to no growth, seri's look like crap and overall my acro growth is slowing down the longer time goes by. Since you were too lazy to go into detail about the effects of low potassium i had to read up and as such i have concluded that my lack of water changes has led to a slow decline in potassium over the months which may be having a seriously negative impact on the growth and health of some of my babies. I ordered 2 bottles of potassium which should be here mon or tues and i'm going to raise it back to 400 asap and see what happens. I'll definitely share any changes i see with you here mate as i'm expecting to see positive results :)
I've never checked potassium and always had crap colored seri's and moderate growth on most acros. This is the first tank i've had monti's in as they weren't available years ago but i know when something isn't growing and i see monti's going nuts in everyone's tanks on RC so something is wrong. I'm thinking all my tanks have had potassium lacking leading to negative impacts on growth and colors on some species....... i'll have to give you a big :love1: if my stuff suddenly starts growing better and the stupid seri actually looks pinker :D

You know there's rock patches with no acros stuck on them don't you mate....... get grinding and gluing ! :lol2:

wow.. the tank looks amazing. We have actually also worked with the inspiration from the bonsai world in our fish tank.. and somehow linking those two world makes sense when doing aquascaping and placing corals.
Looking forward to follow your tank.

Hi Rogerh,
Yes corals don't like being too close to pump. I'm having it running on nutrient export mode and sometimes reef crest mode just to aerate the system once in a while :)

Hi biggles,
Thanks so much mate for the motivation and kind words. Your post made my day. And yes ofcourse thanks a million for the "vote" of confidence hehehe ;)
You are spot on my friend regarding the bonsai scape plan. That's exactly my idea creating a bonsai type outcrop.
Gosh were did ya find those pics....just like my scape!! I dint think my middle scape resembled a bonsai but after seeing the pics you posted...I see the resemblance. Thanks for sharing dude!! Now I feel I achieved something close to nature :)

Coming to Potassium, yes I have been adviced that it does impact colour and most salt mixes show up tad bit less K values and especially for SPS Potassium supplementation is a good idea.
But if you wanna raise K to 400 do it very gradually. Too much K in a short time can cause ill effects, brown film, algae etc.
I always give more attention to the negative or ill effects of a dosing agent rather than just concentrate on the positive effects. Mainly because experience has taught me that in our hobby the negative effects usually hits you first and rapidly. So be cautious my friend :)

Regarding my photographic ability...it sucks I really need to take better pictures and learn.
:lol2: yea I too see some bare rock patches I need to fill up. Just waiting patiently for more SPS to arrive. And yup dremelling too :D coz I know I have big "the tool man"gles on my side.

Thanks mate for the continued support.

Hi cbitsiaras,
Thanks a lot for viewing and the kind words.
Bonsai and Japenese reef scapes are my biggest inspiration for creating the scape.
I am glad you joined me in my journey...welcome :)

Really nice tank man! :-)

But I'm wondering, whats the app of your camera? How the system work actually? Because I'm really interested to do the same, pretty cool for keep an eye on our baby! :)

How well behaved is the Potter's angel?
Hi Terence Trent,
The Potters I had never bothered the SPS or the LPS corals.
But I had to give him up during the transition to the new tank. I will sure get one for my tank...waiting for a healthy feeding specimen...who can stand it's ground with my grown up flame back!!
