Been looking on reef central and have come across some great info on building acrylic sumps (also on melevsreef.com). Wondering if anyone on local (FWMAS) has had experience w/ acrylic and can give some pointers.

Check with Mojo and Rob from love this hobby ...both have done a lot of acrylic work as has Tazman

Took me about a hour and a half to put mine together. I built my acrylic sump and it turned out pretty nice. I built mine to be 36x14x12

I found out from a friend there is a place over off goshen rd in the industrial park that sells acrylic cheap, but he didn't know the name. He said he would get a number for me. give me a few days and ill post it.

Frank:
The place is Meyer Plasticand the phone number is482-4595,and you can get some good prices on what they call scrap.Thats where I get all of mine from. The last time out I got 2 pcs 1 pcs is 24x48 clear and the other is 12x43 black and both pcs are 1/4 inch.So goo luck with your search.

cool. well, if we can do something like that (demo as part of mtg,etc...that'd be gr8.
just let me know a date asap so I can schedule in my calendar. hopefully not 6/13 as i'm getting married that day - woohoo!!! ( after 7 yr engagement)
;-D

Sounds like me. Was with my wife almost 8 yrs before we married. Better to be safe than sorry. LOL. Common law says your already married though.
I'm in for a sump build. Im going to be building a 4ft long sump but I dont have to room for a household of people. Man living here sucks @SS!!Maybe Jesse can just build it for me. LOL. I just dont think 1/4" is going to work for me though since I'm going to have bigger than usual baffles. Im not scared though......
