Did you have a parts list for the components of your light rack.
I don't really have a parts list, but I can tell you that I used a combination of 100-130 and 100-160 tubes. The connectors I used were all black composite - NOT the steel ones. As far as what tubes to use (the 130 or 160), it depends on your particular needs.

Tom, thanks for the clarification on the rack model I was about to go with the 100-120 and the 100-150 tubing...I wasn't sure of the real difference other than the size of the lip I would be able to work with.

Hows the program comming along. I love the Idea of the lcd but not that good in programming
Pretty good, actually. I've managed to add real time graphing with quite a few parameters that allow it to be customized. Working on adding a scripting language to allow complex decision making for turning devices on and off, etc. Should be pretty cool. I'll do a pic update in a couple of days, but the utility won't be done for a number of weeks yet.

BTW: as far as the LCD is concerned - there won't be any programming necessary.

Hey, Ted. Well ... actually I'm just interested in a lot of things. As my wife says - it keeps me out of her hair. :D

Ed Reef - I think a lot of wives go to that school, Ed. ;)

allactiondan - thank you. Compliment much appreciated.

bbehring - didn't mean to make anyone nervous about their DSB. :( Mine was very deep, the bio-load was very high, and the tank was very old. Kinda like an accident looking for a place to happen. I don't really agree with the DSB BAD, SSB GOOD thing. I just think long term success with a DSB depends on experience, skills, and commitment. All things being equal, I feel an SSB is less likely to cause trouble.

Tom, ya on my next build I will prolly go with a SSB. My DSB (5") has been up and running for 2 years now. I do sift/turn it often. My leopard wrasse loves the DSB! Any more update pics? Also, Merry Christmas to you Tom from Hemet!!!

We've had relatives visiting from Europe for the last 3 weeks so I haven't gotten much completed - but I will have a major update in about 10 days.

And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours - and the same for all RC members that celebrate the holidays.

Great build Tom!!

Ryan, sounds like you been doing your homework on the lights.

Have you used either of the two models?

16" is the perfect height for the lumenbrights, and thats if you have some space between them and need to fill the gap in light spread (like if I was going to use 3 of them on my 6' tank).

since you have 16" height and almost no space between 4 of them...

I think that's going to give some insane PAR numbers :) I wish I could have that kind of light coverage in my tank :) instead I'm having to go with lumenarcs because they spread the light a bit more . but the lumenbrights are unequivocly better in your case.

and having the 16" will help move alot of air and keep the heat from the lights out of the tank.

rpeeples, savichus - thank you for your compliments.

EnglishRebel - what is a SSB - stands for Shallow Sand Bed. I consider that to be anything up to 1 inch. Sorry 'bout that - it makes me feel cool to use acronyms.

Whoops - sorry Ed. I didn't see your post before I jumped in. How are things in your part of the world?
