Got Fish?

I promised some pics of the new inhabitants. Sorry, I had some things going on here so I didn't have time to do anything special. Here are some quick ones. I'll do something better a little later.

I got three of these guys. The first afternoon they had some pretty bad spats while setting up their hierarchy, but then once that was done, all was OK. There's also a Purple Tang. He's kinda made up his mind he's the boss of the Tangs for now. The Yellows have said OK.

This guy is one half of a pair. I was afraid it wouldn't work out but, I got lucky. Looks like it's male and female. They're busy getting to know each other.

Got seven Squammies. The male hasn't quite got all his testosterone yet, but he's workin' on it.

In addition there are 3 Chromis, a Canary Blenny, and a Flame Hawk. All the fish, except the Anthias are very young. Multiples usually learn to get along better when they're young - that's with the possible exception of the Chrommies.

I'll have a lot of better fish pics a little later.

A friend gave me three Long Spined Urchins. They are from local waters, here in Florida (has it's plus points). These guys absolutely wiped out a fair amount of hair algae that crept up after the main cycle. The Tangs are keeping it short now.

For first inhabitants, I've also included the usual suspects - Ceriths, Nassarius, Hermits, etc. All seems to be working out fairly well. I'm gonna wait a while before I put the "hard" fish in, Red Sea Regal Angel, etc. I'm working on the first corals now. A friend recently gave me some frags and I'll be visiting the LFS soon.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm currently working on the Fuge and Frag Tanks. I really need to get off my butt and get the finished.

Anyway, I'll put together some FTSs and a lot of better fish shots a little later.

that first trip to the lfs to stock a new tank is so much fun!

Tom
Don't forget the little plastic algae scraper (aka credit card). :p

Looking great. This is such a prime example of how to setup a modern reef with high end gear. I'm afraid to ask how much it all cost, but I have a good idea, and it ain't cheap.

Did you end up doing a PAR reading for us yet?

It's not....
If you have to ask how much it cost, you can't afford it'
but...
'If you have to ask how much it cost, make sure Tom's wife is not in earshot'.

Very Nice! You should see if NASA is hiring. If they are we would get to Mars much quicker.

Way to go. Can't wait to see the full tank shot.

No - but I will. I did do some preliminaries - I'm getting over 300 on the bottom - but, as I say, I will do a full PAR chart. And, thanks for the kind words.

fredknack - thanks for the nice compliments, Fred. I'm glad your enjoying it. I checked out your website. Fantastic! You all ought to take a look - and how is the heck did you manage to get that domain name?

Tom, any FTS or rockwork pics?
They'll be coming up in a couple of days, Mike.
