Building My 375gal Glass Reef

I've got your thread bookmarked. Such a clean build... so many great ideas.

Where did you get this tubing?

Hey Tom, just thought you would like to know that Randy closed up Concept Aquariums. They now order in all their stuff from a builder in Calgary who unfortunately doesn't have a very good reputation.
Your tank is the inspiration for my upcoming tank build and now sadly the builder is gone.

Yeah, he mentioned he was having problems, due to the recession. Sad, he built a great aquarium. :(

Hi Tom, just read the whole thread, have to say that's an awesome build, attention to detail is amazing, well done dude.

Paul.

Nice looking build!
It has definitely given me some ideas for my new build. I am still finishing my basement, so it looks like I might want to ammend my plans to fit in some stuff!!!

Great organization and attention to detail - both of which I am sticklers for.
Can't wait to see some more pictures, and find the time to fully read through thread(s) :)

Best I can tell, your tank was born on January 19th, 2009. That means you've got about 2 months to prepare for a FTS of your 1 year old!:celeb3:

If you wanted to post one now, nobody would get upset;)

By far the best tank room I have ever seen. You actually make me want to buy a new house just to have a fish room like that. I now want to start over, LOL

Incredible, I just finished reading this thread from beginning to end and all I have to say is you did an amazing job. Bar none the best fish room I have seen since joining reefcentral, looks very professional. First, I would like to thank you for supplying the detailed pics and explanations, and for being so gracious in answering everyones questions. You have no idea how helpful that is to someone like myself who is in the early planning stages of putting together something of this magnitude, so once again thank you. Now if you don't mind I have a couple questions to ask myself.

1. The hefty bulkheads you use are haywards I believe, if this is true, where do you get them and what type do you use? I've only seen thread X thread or slip X thread, I can't find slip X slip. If you use the threaded ones have you had any problems with them leaking?

2. What type of UV sterilizer is that? Where did you get it? How is it plumbed?

3. Is it necessary to have the two eheims supplying the skimmers or could they be directly fed from the overflow or directly from the sump?

4. I noticed you use ozone, did you purchase the special ReeFlo ozone safe seal kit for the orca pump from reefspecialty.com or was this not necessary?

5. I believe you state on the very first page you would be using 3 DC 8's for the AC III but I only saw the one on your light hub. Where are the other 2 and what do they control.

6. Last one I promise. Have you worked on or have plans for a way to raise the light rack straight up like Untamed12 did with the actuator?

Keep up the good work Tom you are an inspiration to us all. I am subscribed and look forward to watching this beautiful tank mature. Once you get the front trim on and the LCD screen installed a front pic of that would be great.
Thanks Again.

Hi Tom,

I have read you thread a couple of times and you build is near perfection, Well done. Now that you have just about finished your build have you got anything planned or are you just kicking back enjoying you fruits so to speek.

You have made me think about making my own sumps now :fun2:

Regards Roger

That setup is TOP NOTCH! Your attention to detail is absolutely amazing and everything is very clean. I wish I had space for a Fish Room like yours.

The only thing I can see that could come in handy would be a sink. Do you have one plumbed in?
