I have a year old 150DD with a pretty well established pod population that keeps my Mandarin eating all day long, it helped that when I set up the tank I transferred the pod happy fuge from my prior tank. My aquascape has a ton of open sand, maybe 90% open due to under sand PVC sheet supporting two columns of rock keeping the footprint as minimum as possible. Also this would be impervious to the goby excavating underneath the rock work. With all this open sand, Tropic Eden Reefflakes, I'm considering getting a Bulet Goby to sift. I don't have a really deep sand bed, maybe an inch and a half, but I could add more. I was just wondering if the Goby and Mandarin together would start to decimate the pod population. Any thoughts?
