Bully damsels & Blue Dot Jaw Fish

I made the mistake of adding 20 blue damsels hoping they would school. Not a chance the first thing they did it tear up the sand bed and lay claim to their territory. Highly agressive I call them the boys in the hood.

My question is about a refugee from this gang land battle, my Blue Dot Jawfish. I know they like their sand but what about button polyps? They have toxins and not his first choice of a home. Should I increase my campaign on damsel removal or is this a suitable place to stay?

In my experience from jawfish - they are good as long as they are comfortable. I had a jawfish for about 2-3 months until I added a tang. within two weeks he had decided to jump. I got another one that never settled in and he jumped quickly as well. If the blue dot is happy and in a home there and doesnt seem stressed then you should be fine. If it was living somewhere else and has moved there from the activity I would say get those damsels out. Unfortunately jawfish are very skittish. I have already planned my next one for my covered cube as they are awesome fish!

Thanks

He is stressed, he moved along side an open brain. At least he's eating. I just got some super small fish hooks an it looks like I'm going damsel fishing. Fish traps haven't worked.

No worries for thoes of you who belong to PETA, I plan on putting them in a humane prison tank.

Kind of interesting what situation you have. I have a Blue Spot Jawfish with a Blue Damsel (as well as 2 clown fish) and the Jawfish rules the tank. He has no problem pushing people out of his way for food and chasing fish away from his burrow.

Good luck with your damsel fishing!

Unfourntantly my damsles are ultra agressive and twice the size.

They are out if I can catch them.
