No they are not Bad in the sense for water quality, they are just ugly and annoying. They are more of a filter feeder.

BUMP, lets see a picture of these snails...PLEASE

Okay I found another way to destroy these pests and it is fun and easy. So the only downside is you have to remove the rock for a couple minutes. Here Goes, You will need a Micro torch, First remove the rock with the offenders, next find a fireproof surface concrete works well. Light your Micro Torch and pinpoint your first snail, this is where the fun begins, upon turning the torch onto the vermetid snail(s). You will hear a snap, crackle pop:fun2:..almost like rice crispies. Next you will see the shells turn white. The bigger ones will steam and may find a little juice coming out the tube. No scraping, no crushing, no glue...just pinpoint accuracy and dead snails. I tried this method last night and boy was it fun and easy. I plan to do a Rock each day until I am satisfied with the population or results.

Accurate, cheap, painless, and effective.:fun2:

No luck with the yellow coris for me. I had to tear down and bleach and acid wash my rocks finally this year. I had thousands of them. Still didn't get them all. Must have snuck by me on a snail. I can now see 2 in the tank. Oh wait....they just got epoxied.

Yeah man... I used to have bumble bee snail never caused me any trouble but its been awhile and my tank is riddled with vermetids right now. I'd buy twenty if I knew they attack those pita

Those vermeteid are everywhere. My tank was ok, then I got a large frogspawn from one of the frag swaps that had few of them (did not know they were pests) ... and they've multiplied like crazy. I removed most 'surgically' with a pair of pliers, but I have a large rock covered with GSP, and I'm seriously debating whether to bathe the whole thing in muriatic acid ...

Unless I here of some natural predator, that seems like my preferred route.

Hahaha yup i didnt even look at the date! I have some emails into a snail and whelk (which technically is what a bb snail is along with nassarius) specialist to verify this.
