burn in time on 14k bulbs?

I recently got some new bulbs to experiment with.

I replaced one of my 10k XM 250w SE with a 250W 14k Hamilton SE on the right side of my 120 (my sort of sps zone in my 120). both on magnetic ballast.

I also replaced my 150W 10k XM DE HQI bulb with a 150W 14k Phoenix DE HQI on my side-by-side 35 gal cube. on electronic ballast.

Both bulbs appear especially blue and im in comparison to the 10K I was running, but I am sure that is just initial perception.

Should I expect some sort of 'burn in' time after which the bulb color settles in to final output?

experiences and comments appreciated.

any links to spectrum output curves, PAR, etc for the bulbs listed above?

Chris, when I installed my AC14k bulbs, it took a good 75 hours for them to completely change and burn in. In the beginning they looked way to blue, after about 50 hours they started to whiten up. I would say around 75 hours they stopped changing.

Thanks Ken, that's what I thought.

I run my bulbs about 10 hours per day, so maybe in a week I'll see a difference.
