Burney is really cool but you need to shoot it either really early or really late. During the middle of the day the light coming over the top is just too hot.

Is that place not too far from Mt Shasta?

Correct. It's even closer to Lassen.

I'm slipping in my old age...used to remember the names and places of all my images...untill I came across my shots from this place (yikes)..beautiful place. Looks like the falls are pretty full.

I remember what I liked about it was all the little mini falls within the falls. So many little drop offs, very intricate.

Lovely pic Louis! I can hear the water and feel the mist on my face. The "long enough to allow moving water to blur" shutterspeed really contributes imho.

Be really careful with those guys. There is no such thing as an OEM license for Photoshop. What you're likely getting is an overseas or academic version. It'll probably work but you'll get hosed if you ever try to upgrade.

Get a copy of Photoshop elements. It'll do just fine. Even better, buy Lightroom and Elements.

It irritates the crap out of me when photographers, who would scream bloody murder if someone tried to use their image without compensation, have no problem with using pirated or less than legitimate software to process that image.

BTW - Louis, my rant wasn't really directed at you. It's just a peeve of mine. I am a self-admitted copyright nazi.

Go Doug go! As someone who used to live off of software royalties, I also get irked when people brag about circumventing the purchase of someone's often intense and prolonged efforts.

I'll throw in a perspective on the copyright conversation (hijack)...

Agreed that stealing is stealing, no two ways about it, but prices are insane which forces many to go to the dark-side.... (ok forces is not a good word but it's the one I'm using)

Lightroom was the first *reasonably* priced piece of software I've seen in ages... Mega functionality at a great price $199(introductory offer) $299 now... Look at photoshop which is not affordable for most people.

Same bs with the DVD/CD industry/media/prices. $35 for a movie... nutz... iTunes has it right(er)... I'm beginning to love their pricing model (in general)...

Make stuff so affordable and people will not bother with other illegitimate means... (generalization for sure, but I believe it to be true).

I'd say end of rant, but honestly... I just cannot do that... this rant continues to slap me in the face every damn day... argh...

PS: I do own my software, though I purchased my adobe stuff on their friends and family employee discount plan so it didn't cost me anywhere near "store" prices.... otherwise, I might/would have pirated it...
