My husband has discovered that the 40 watt UV ballast that I mounted on a support beam (wood) in the basement is HOT. He is worried that it is a fire hazard.
How do you all mount your ballasts so they are safe?
You might want to put a piece of metal between the ballast and the wood to act as a heat sink though I doubt that it would get hot enough for ignition.
