butterflies in reefs

Lemon, I was just thinking yesterday of posting that the thread isn't the same without you, and here you are. Keep dropping in from time to time.

i dont have a tank anymore because i'm entering the army in a few months. but i do still read this thread from time to time, great job everyone!

Update:
Xantocephalus<-->Rainfordi seems to be a difficult marriage:mad: after feeding he (xantocephalus)keeps chasing him throughout the tank for about half an hour....
For the moment no probs between the Xantocephalus and Epipphium....fingers crossed.....
Quadrimaculatus didn't make it....reason? I don't know because I was on holiday for a week???
Today acquired Chaetodon Xanthurus:thumbsup: instead of Madagaskariensis, the differences between the two are not worth mentioning:rolleyes:
The wish-list is getting shorter:dance:

My rainfordi is still one of my wimpiest butterflies, even though he is quite large now.

Awesome video stuifbol. Is you vagabon agressive? How big is it? I use to have an Auriga with some other BFs and he wouldn't tollerate them.

He's about 7 to 8 cm.....not overly agressive(most during feeding time) but I noticed that it's increasing while he's growing more and more....will see what happens in the future:thumbsup:

Hmm, GL with that one. Tried it once, never ate. Have never seen one in a tank either :(

Already generally accepted but my CBB leaves all coral alone and eats like an absolute champion. He is the biggest pig in the tank.

Just to clarify....that's a Chaetodon decussatus that stuifbol has. They are a lot more hardy than a C. vagabundus, which I would steer clear of if you can get the decussatus................plus the decussatus are just a nicer looking fish.

Nice & healthy BF's you have there stuifbol.

@Dr colliebreath: Don't know where It's from....will ask the LFS when I pick him up this week...so he's an extra week at the LFS because I didn't have time to pick him up
@SDGuy:never saw one either...but I can really trust my LFS that it's a good one...fingers crossed...I will put him in QT for an extra few weeks together with the Xanthurus...I know he's allready a few weeks at the wholesaler so i'm pretty sure it's a good one
@Big E: you're right that it is a Decussatus.....they are quite similar in appearance like the Pictus from the Red Sea....overall behavour and lenght should be the same I think?
grtz J
Nice. Do you know where it is from? Hopefully not the Philippines or Indonesia, given their track record.

I don't know anything about pictus......i've never seen them in the trade.

I don't think the Adiergastos are difficult, but the tough thing around here is getting one that isn't abused in shipping or already half dead.

@Big E :Never saw a Pictus either in the trade:facepalm:
@Tylersarah : pic below :beer:
