Buying a Ro/di unit tonight. TyphoonIII? Got any pics of it running?

I'm waiting over a week for answers from AWI. I sent purelyh2o an email today. Nothing yet, but I hope to get an answer from them. Their prices are a heck of a lot better anyway.

Get the Typhoon III you will not regret it. Superior product, I am from the school that you get what you pay for. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I will share with you that Walter at AWI is trying to retire. He has been at this a long long time and would like to slow down. Bryan, a long time employee is taking over the helm under Walters watchful eye. I understand they don't anticipate any changes in the way they do business and I hope they continue in the way Walter has done for years. Bryan has given me the OK to pass this information on per an e-mail conversation a few days ago.
I have no connection with any manufacturer or vendor of water treatment equipment but have a lot of respect for the reputation Walter has built up over the years. That doesn't come from selling poorly designed products of providing lousy customer support. I would venture to say there are very few vendors that will replace faulty components sight unseen as I have seen them do and take you for your word. Thats great customer service in my book!

Thanks AZD. That would explain it. Maybe Bryan is overwhelmed. I have got emails from him saying he will get back to me with answers, but hasn't yet. Now I understand what is going on.

FWIW. I just called AWI today and I think I spoke with Brian (no waiting and no need to leave message). I got the info I needed and placed my order today as well.

I have spoken to bryan a number of times also, I am having issues with my typhoon III, Bryan has been extremely helpful and is taking care of my unit. (replacement)

Nice to know Walter is retiring from the help of all of us! :) At any rate, when I emailed a bit ago, I got a response within 1 hour. Maybe that was pre-retirement. :p

I ordered my Typhoon III Last tuesday (3-21) and got it on Friday (3-24) no problems but I wish I had known that RC members got the free float valve that would have saved me $15 but I'm happy with the unit. easy setup (temporary anyway with the garden hose adapter) tap water TDS ~150ppm RO/DI ~3ppm. I never called or emailed AWI just placed my order and waited eveything came as they said when they said. That's good buisness to me!

You should be getting 0 TDS from DI. I have ~120 TDS input, 1-2 TDS RO, and 0 TDS DI. Make sure you are taking your measurements in a glass container that has been rinsed clean with RO/DI water.

I took my measurments directly from the container I keep the water in. Its been around for a while so I would expect to get an incorrect reading. I'll check it in a glass later though just to make sure.

Yes, please do. Make sure it is rinsed well. Also if you could take a reading from the RO only output also, this will let us debug the situation further. Make sure you rinse off the meter too after testing, just a drop of input water or RO only water can throw the readings off.

Darn, I didn't know that RC members got a free float valve either. I wonder if I can still get them to throw that into the package since I only placed the order yesterday.

That's one thing I like about Bryan at PurelyH2o....he's got a big 1-888 number plastered on his website.
Everyone of these guys get busy...they are not employing hundreds of folks and have to deal with many things besides e-mail during the day.

Hi Bryan. We spoke this morning. Thanks very much for your time. I checked with the water co and I dont have Chloramines, but the next county east does along with ozone. I put in the order and put the extra stuff we talked about in the comments section of the Paypal form. Please be sure that that part is taken care of. BTW, I sent the email via the contact form on the website.

For anyone reading, Bryan was great to deal with. He spent plenty of time answering all of my questions, and made sure I was getting everything I needed, and nothing I didn't.
