buzzing sound

My 48 inch 4x65 watt Pc lighting setup makes a rythmic metallic buzzing noise. Its on plastic legs 5 inches over teh tank, anyone else have this or know how to stop it?

It is probably the ballast, the only way tto stop it would be to replace it. But some ballasts do make noise.

IF it isn't the ballast (most likely), it could be pump vibration transmitted up through the tank.

when i lift the ballast up on its legs it stops....so maybe i should get a hood and hang it?

If the noise is that distracting than yeah you could hang it.
