C. prolifera Temperature Requirements

Does anyone know what the normal temperature range is for Caulerpa prolifera? As everyone knows, California outlawed a large number of marine algaes a while back. I would like to establish a large culture of Caulerpa prolifera (which is legal, this week) outdoors. I'm worried about the Winter temperatures at night. During the day I should be able to utilize solar heating but I have no way of storing the energy during the night.

Maybe 70F.
We find it in Cedar Key here in Florida and themps get down to this range.
These will not make it through the colder central valley winters and might have trouble when it's 100+F in Sac.
