How many LFS have you seen carrying this macroalgae? I know it's illegal in CA to even possess it, let alone sell it. I went to one of the LFS here and I saw one that I think is a C. Taxifolia that they have on display.

Upon reading this link
http://www.sccat.net/banned_species.php

It says that Grape Caulerpa is also banned in CA? I see a lot of LFS that carry this stuff. Do we like, um... report them all to authorities?

Its very much like many laws unfortunately, they exist on the books but they are hard to enforce. You could report them, potentially to the state dept of agriculture or perhaps fish and wildlife would govern it instead.

I believe there are nine species of Caulerpa that are banned in California.
