CadLights 34g Mini-II ZeoVit

Is this a good tank for someone just wanting to get started in the hobby? Thinking of doing a FOLW for 6-9 months than maybe adding corals as I gain exp.

You could do what ever you wanted with this tank, its versatile, and you can hide the cad skimmer in the back very nicely for a stealth factor....

Cant wait to see this Acan turn into a colony!

I just got a Cadlights 34g mini-II, mostly because of seeing what great stuff you're doing with yours! Your tank is gorgeous!

Okay, total random question. But in the back aio part of the tank do you have an odd floating wall? Like there's the overflow chamber then there's a piece of glass suspended with a gap beneath it, I assume as the place where the skimmer is supposed to attach to. But does yours not touch the ground? Does it serve any purpose other than to attach the skimmer?

There is a direct correlation between the glass that holds the skimmer and the water level in the rear chambers. It doesn't need to touch the bottom. The baffle you hang the skimmer on allows it to be hidden from view. The final baffle height is designed around the consideration of the skimmer pump depth while hung from that bracket. So I personally set my skimmer height first then set the ATO.

Okay, just checking that it's supposed to be that way. I'm not using it to hold my skimmer, so I couldn't see any other purpose for it.

You're wasting space if you don't use the bracket. You always want to make the most out of the space you have in these all in ones.

Go with what works best for you though...

Well my issue is I'm supposed to have the bio pellets before the skimmer. Are you using filter floss in the first chamber?
