CADLIGHTS 34G with pics

...lol...start saving up for a bigger tank - NOW!!!

My tank is almost full...and although I planned most of what I was getting ahead of time...I ended up with too many tentacled critters...

...for example, I should have gotten some psychedelic mushrooms instead of hairy mushrooms...I know I can always trade or whatever, but I don't like doing that...I like hanging on to my critters for the long term...

Rod great tank! I also just started a new tank except this is my first.

Camera - You should try shooting with diffrent white balance settings and see which one looks the best good luck cameras are not made to shoot under these types of lighting conditions.

Rod I agree with Alex, change the white balance try different ones you should have five different settings along with manual mode which is a user defined white balance to be used with a grey card under the current lighting (don't worry don't use the manual mode). The great thing with digital you can always delete and try again. Do do this though turn off all other lights in the room. You said you tank is in your office, florescent lights can give off very strange color cast which can effect your photos. Also don't hesitate to up you ISO, that camera is using the new Digic III chip low noise and great color. Keep trying and keep posting those great shots.

I HATE TESTING WATER.....

I get two different readings with two different test and my LFS's are even different than what I get?

I hate to say but my rainsford gobie and a coupld of sexy shrimp have gone missing. Have not seen them for a couple of weeks. They seemed good one day and gone the next?

When should I start seeing some good coraline algae growing?

Added a yellow clown goby, purple firefish and yasha hase goby this weekend. When I first started this tank I thought I might not even add any fish...boy was I mistaken. These are the most interesting fish I have ever owned and each has its own personality as do the corals.

Will post some pics of yasha hase goby as soon as he decides to come out.

Wow.....it has been a long time since my last update.

Everything is growing well and the tank is starting to fill in nicely. I have not missed a single weekly water change but I have come close. All my equipment is working well and I have not had any issues so far. I lost my yellow clown goby but not sure why, no trace of him anywhere. He could not have jumped with lid on tight and too big to make it to the back chambers. He was fine one day and poof......gone the next. Replaced him with a citron clown goby and bi colored blenny. Also added a pair of harlequin shrimp and they have been very fun to watch and easy to keep to this point.

Aww, that's too bad you lost your clown goby, he was pretty cool. Do you have a FTS pic?

Awesome start. I'm about to get a nano going myself. :)

Watch out for those harlequin shrimps.. they only eat starfish. If you don't have an abundance of the little hitchhiking type (their name escapes me), you may have to supplement by adding a starfish arm every once in a while.

Good luck and keep the pics coming!

Thanks for the post.....I keep some star fish arms frozen and give them a little each week.

More pics to come soon.

Forgot to mention in my last post.....started my son a Biocube 8 for Christmas......going through the cycle right now. Added the CUC last weekend and all is going well.
