Cadlights PLS-50 nano skimmer review

Let me know how it fits. That's the one I'm looking into. Where did you it and did you have to modify to fit and be able to open hood, etc

I got it off petstore.com and found a 15% off coupon on the web, so found it a great deal.

I know if fits, from seeing others on the web that are using it. I also did some measurements. It looks like it will fit with the hood open 2/3 of the way, but not all the way up. I will know more later this week when it shows up.

Someone on one of the message boards shortened one of the pipes to allow for full opening. Can't recall which one. Maybe as nano reef. Com

Would this fit on a Biocube 29 with the cover, or would the cover have to removed? I wanted to use the stock lights for now.

Thanks

Eddie Ed

The cover won't work. You could cut out the corner though. I took out the bottom shelf in the first section and works great. The shelf does,....nothing, except trap detritus anyway.

Here's some pics.

I got a message from CAD that by removing the red gasket, it seals better and gets smoother turns. I tried it on mine last week and its so much looser and the bottom 2 plates stay put. no micro-bubble leakage and I can turn with just 2 fingers now.

they say by removing the red gasket, its very much like the way the larger PLS skimmers are. those don't use the red o-ring.

Is this the red gasket in the bottom by pump?
