cadugauch's 75 gallon build

Its probably the bottom of the pump vibrating on the sump. It happened to me. I had to add the bracket with suction cups on the bottom of my pump to stop the vibration.

Just got my lights...2 sets of full spectrum leds with 6 actinics, 16 whites w/ 2 diff. wavelength, blues 29 blues and 2 different wavelength, 2 greens 2 reds.

Includes a timer with 3 timers per module and dimmers for blues and another for whites/red/green

Also includes moonlights

Will post pictures tomorrow

I love the clean look of the sump too, I am curious too how the sump will hold long term, I have only seen bad results with the pvc and pvc/acrylic combination, I also contacted Vincent to ask him about the sump as he advertise them on craigslist, He seems to know what he is doing but I have seen so many PVC seams leak that I am not a believer yet.
This will be a good test! keep us posted.

I would agree but the same could be said about acrylic, I just don't think some people are familiar enough with working with PVC. Unless you are referring to professionally done PVC Acyrlic units.

Looks great. Can you change the optics or remove them altogether to distribute the light a bit wider?

He really needs to raise the lights, they need to be at least a foot above the water. He however cannot due that to the canopy.

dam they are bright!

These are more powerful than most think, Right now I am using them in my "bathtub tank" and they are close to 50 inches away from some corals.

Oddly enough my coral are responding better in my bathtub than in the previous tank. I can only attribute the change in height the light sits at previously they were only 8'' above the water line in a 24'' deep tank.

They are right now 6" from the water which is not good enough...but for now thats how they are going to stay...i plan to build a bigger canopy later on

They are at 30% whites and 50% blues now and still very bright!

definitely a plus to have dimmers! tank is looking good. I noticed that skimmer is skimming a little wet, lower the bubbles in it.

looking good.

That is my dilemma now. I can only get bout 8" above water. Dang canopies:headwally:

I noticed you have only 16 whites, Seems about right. People with blue and white always seem to turn blue up way higher the white via dual dimmers.

Even with only 16, you still will crank up blue more ( :

28 white is way overkill IMO

If anyone is considering this light and wants to see it working with your own eyes....please stop by and check them out

Quick update...i added a couple of clownfish and two pajamas cardinals to speed up the cycle. It has been 10 days and no cycle yet.

I started with live sand, NSW and a couple of pieces of live rock. I also added some sand from my established tank.

Still waiting but looks like cycle is not happening
