So today i decided to remove the optics from my led fixture. Since the fixture is only 6" away from the water and had 90 degree optics it looked like a flashlight on my rocks.

All i can say is what a difference! I know i might lose some par...but the spread is amazing now!

I have no optics on mine, and grow SPS on the bottom. Birdsnest and monti's grow down low, acros grow, but don't color well. Acro's on top get fried. My tank is only 14" though, but if you have a lot more juice, then should be fine. Its a zoa tank anyway, right?

great work, any update after 2 years?

I like sump with PVC and acrylic, how did you glue both materials? Because PVC I can use TANGIT, but acrylic with PVC?

I would like to DIY sump like you
