Calcium Automat setup???

Hi Roger,

Just a simple question....should i place the probe in the sump or in the tank? I'm pretty sure you'll say in the sump should it be placed in the same area as the reactor or where the skimmer is? My skimmer will be the area where the tank flows in and ill have the reactor after the baffles just before the return pump. theres also a built in refugium....so where exactly should it be placed.

Also on the controller should it be set at the PH i want the tank to be at...or should it be set lower to allow the breakdown of the calcium carbonate in the reactor....this is where I'm a bit confused.

Also how to counter balance the drop in PH caused by the calcium reactor. I was thinking a top off with kalk???

The probe shoould be placed farther from the reactor. The pH I would set at 8.1-8.2. I use kalk to counter mine and help raise the pH enough to trigger the controller. It takes a few months for everything to get very stable.

Roger here is a top view of how i was thinking of placing the equipment in the sump. Could you tell me if it is adequate and where would i have to place the probe.

I would put the probe in tank, mine is near the overflow.
