It's not the stuff you melt ice with, it's the type that's "food grade" for pickling. One 5.5oz can is about $3.70 and it says it is equivalent to 3lbs of pickling lime. I know you don't want to use it for top off water, but it sure beats paying $12 for the Kent Turbo Calcium or something like that.
Just figured I'd share a good deal. It won't last long because all of it is on clearance. They have quite a bit, but I suspect they will send it to a warehouse or something soon, due to the season. It's all up in the front walkway of the store on CLinton Hwy...with some canning jars and stuff.
