The Anhydrous Calcium Chloride from Dow at the Bearden Ace Hardware (thanks goreefer for the info) is circa 2003, according to Dow:

The lot number, RJ24014011 was manufactured 2003, on October 24th.
I have also attached the bromide announcement letter from Dow.

It has the low bromide levels! If you dose 2-part, you might want to pick some up since the newer lots have high bromide content. I think (hope) I'm set for life, but it might be a good thing for a group buy as there are only a few bags left!

thanks for the heads up! I just picked up a bag this morning - 4 bags remaining. Where do you find the lot number? I bought the stuff they had in the storage shed behind the building - Anhydrous Calcium Chloride, 94-97% Mini-Pellets, by Dow, $19.99/50lb bag.

I noticed a sticker on the bottom of the bag but could not read it - did that have the lot number on it?

Yes, it is on the small white sticker. Remember, this stuff is more concentrated than DowFlake, so use the Peladow on the chemistry calculator. From Dow:
The pre-2006 batch of Anhydrous CaCl contains up to 190 ppm (DowFlake is 160) vs. 8500 ppm for the newer stuff.
