Calcium reactor question.

I purchased a used dual chamber MTC pro reactor. The lid is stuck on the chambers like they are glued on. I pulled hard on chamber and the flange cracked. I am getting a replacement chamber for that one. But the other chamber lid is still stuck any suggestions on how to loosen it up so this doesn't happen again.

My guess is the lid has been closed for along time and the gasket sealed to the lid.

Any help to loose it up is appreciated.

Yeah, take a large flat screwdriver or chisel, push it into the gap slightly and twist slightly. Move around the top doing that each time and the top should loosen. Jeff told me this many years ago.

Ok this will not ruin the gasket??

Don't jam the screwdriver in ..... just get it 1/4" in and twist gently. I do this every time I open the chambers, though usually one spot is enough. If yours has gotten sealed shut, as it sounds, you may have to work your way around the circumference. It should pop free.

If it is really stuck try using fishing line. Sounds silly but it can make it's way into some tight spots and loosen things up.
