Calcium Reactor recirc flow

How much does the recirculation flow thru the media chamber matter on a calcium reactor? I just bought a used reactor that needs a new pump. Do I need to buy the same size pump or can I go smaller with no adverse effects? The stock reactor is rated for way above my actual tank capacity.

thanks

you are in the building stages corect try to plumit to the return with a small gate valve like 3/8 or so that will worck and won't make you have and xtra pump in the sytem

I think he is not talking about the feeding pump but the recirculating pump, the answer is very important. replace it with the same pump tim

Okay Roger, I will do that. Now my next question for my own knowledge and curiosity is why? I guess I am just not seeing why you need 300 gph going through the chamber. Does it keep the media suspended in the chamber?

Thanks

Tim this pump is the one that it is actually going to do the mixing between the Co2, the Salt water and the media, a strong pump will make the acid water go through the media many times before it has to exit as your effluent
