Calcium reactor

How many of you guys are running calcium reactors on your systems? If so what kind are you running? I am thinking that my next large purchase will be an MRC calcium reactor rated at 300 gallon. I tried the DIY route 2 years ago with no success. Any other suggestions on reactor brands?

i run an MRC reactor, smallest one.
i modified it a little bit becasue the output kept clogging and the bubble counter was a PITA so i made a self-filling one, works well enough now though. How did you try to DIY one?

I run a reeftek reactor,on my 200.Its size is 8" diameter tubing,and is 24" tall,would be the perfect size for you 125.

Zach,
there ya go. Buy a GEO the quality, craftmanship and customer service is the best of the best...
All his stuff is All cell cast acrylic construction. Not extruded like the others... It even has a Eheim 1048 pump included... Along with other great features such as pH probe port in lid pH probe adapter included.

I have GEO everything, Ca reactor Kalk reactor and beckett skimmer...
I seen the rest but bought the Best!

Also, do your self and your reef a huge favor and get a CO2 regulator with solenoid.

Thanks guys.

How do you guys feed your reactor? Small power head or gravity?

Tim I already have that same regulator and I have an Aqua Controller Jr on the way for monitoring and control. I am getting my calcium in order right now since it is EXTREMELY low. Once that is configured I will buy the reactor. The next time I am home is for a week in November so that will be an good time to set one up.

tee it off your return pump and put a john guest fitting at the tee to control the flow, no need to consume extra watts. if that's impossible, anything from a little maxijet all the way down to an aqualifter will work, you're just going to restrict the flow down to mL/ Min anyway anyway.

Well I think I might go with the MRC CR-1 model which is capable up to 300 gallon. I am very happy with my MRC skimmer. I really like the craftmanship of the Geo but price is the major factor for me to not go with the Geo. Is it necassary to have the PH probe in the reactor also? I noticed that the Geo is one of the only choices with that option.
