Man has my cali tort taken off, its actually growing quite fast in my tank and the picture does not do the color justice. the end of the tip in the pic is actually an indigo blue, the exposure kind of whites it out . BEAUTIFUL piece though, hopefully ill be fraggin it within the year:dance:

unedited exposure, shows more of the blue tip better and more accurate while the above image shows the rest accurate

My understanding of it is that it's their lineage, and each have different color variations.

Cali tort tends to be more purple/indigo and grows faster than the other torts. ORA blue Oregon tort is actually an Oregon tort that they have propagated in their systems since 2004, and in that time has genetically drifted a bit to be more turquoise/green than the original Oregon blue tort, but it's hard to tell unless a true Oregon blue tort is right next to it. The ORA tort tends to grow faster as well. ORA also has a "blue cali" tort which I'm pretty sure is just their version of a regular Cali Tort. And finally the Oregon Blue tort is the bluest and slowest growing of them all.

Also, I've heard some say the Cali Tort isn't even really a tortuosa, but I have no way of knowing if that's true or not as I'm not a coral phylogeny expert :)

Color and form. The oregon tort( acropora tortuosa) is a very distinctive bright blue . The cali tort varies abit but is not the same blue. Here pictures of each of mine:
