lets see some pics

Im looking for ideas. i need to change out the 40gallon breeder sump under my 120 to someting smaller so i have room for the sump, everything in the sump, auto top off resivour, chiller, Calcium reactor, kalkwasser reactor, ballasts, and all the other electrical stuff.

anyone who has a messy stand can participate. im looking forward to seeing some stands that are realy crowded with equipment.

I have added a phosban reactor since this pic. There are 2 filter socks. One on the drain and one on the skimmer outlet. The egg crate creates a separate area for a cheto lit by a clip-on bulb.

70 gallon stand. Pro Clear Aquatics sump, office clamp fan, phosban reactor (out of view between bucket and sump), skimmer, auto-topoff using 6 gallon bucket kalkwasser reservoir. Just did a water change today, running carbon tonight. Skimmer is unplugged and reservoir is topless while filling with RODI. Not much room for anything else unfortunately:

very nice.

anyone have a chiller in there stand too?
Not the best place to put a chiller IMO. Chillers should be well ventilated.

I have nowere else to put it so i plan to put mine under the tank but have some of the metal tubing stuff that people use for cloths drier venalation running from the chiller to outside the stand. hopefully it will work

I think I see some space bottom right I can fit more I know it :)

The chiller is about 11 ft away behind a hutch in the dining room.

I cringe at the thought of having to do routine maintenace in something crammed in like that. Since I could not get everything to fit under my tank, I just drilled the floor and moved everything into the basement! Best thing ever! :)

If you don't have enough room under your tank to house your equipment, you don't have a big enough tank! That's what I told my wife :D

That's hilarious! I wish my wife would go for that... Although she did fall for the, "honey, it's going to look so much better after I drill huge holes in the floor and move all this stuff into the basement!" :D

No basement! I actually have full access to everything so not a problem for me.

Here's how I setup my previous sump. The stand is steel with magnetic wood panels. All sides come off to access everything.

That's a 29g with a Deltec AP600 to the right of it.

This is an older picture, but I have my calcium reactor in the return section as well as phosban reactors.

The skimmer, refugium, reactors are all under my tank. The top off reservoir is off to the right in wrapping paper containers.

I opted to put water proof outlets over the sump to avoid issues, and every outlet has its own GFCI button. If it trips, the other outlets are still live.

I have the same problem reefman77. A 40br is just too big. I can't even get a decent size skimmer in there. What size sump are you thinking about changing to? I don't plan on changing mine until I have to move, so I'm a little stuck for a while, but I am curious about how small a sump I could get away with.
