They won't choke per se, but there can be complications that arise from feeding large pieces of food. This can range from physical damage from the food to decay within the animal's gut, since it takes much longer to digest. These two reasons are why it is most often recommended to use smaller pieces, despite the fact that many anemones can handle larger ones.
