Can anyone ID these sponges?

I've had these clear fuzzy (what I'm guessing) sponges in my aquarium for the past month or so. They've exploded in growth and in every nook and cranny the light doesn't touch, except for the one ledge my CBS hangs out. They're explosion in growth prompted my curiosity if anyone knows anything about them. Is the presence of sponges like this an indicator that the tank is ready for corals?
Here's a pic

Despite the offering of a commonly used name among marine aquarists, your new inhabitants are not related to sponges. They are one of thousand of species of tunicates. Larger more colorful colonial species are commonly called sea squirts. Amazingly they are members of the chordata phylum, i.e. they have a primitive spinal cord. http://depts.washington.edu/fhlk12/links/StudentProjects/Tun.biology.html

Nope, they aren't tunicates. These are scypha (scycon) sponges. Harmless.
