Can Anyone ID this Anemone?

I purchase this anemone as a green bubble tip with a purple base. My Percula loves it. She sleeps with it all night long and plays with it all day lone. It has a purple base and its green but it does not look like a bubble tip anemone. I see no bubbles at the end of its tips. Can anyone verify what type of anemone this is? Thanks for any info.

I see you're in Tampa. What store did you get it from?

It's impossible to give an ID from the pic. It could be BTA or magnifica. Check the mouth. If it has white lines radiating out from the mouth it is a BTA.

I ordered it off the internet from http://saltwaterdiscount.com/index.php They sold it as a green BTA with a purple base. Its rather small, only 2 inches in diameter. Tomorrow I'll try and take a better picture and post it. The tips do not have a bubble on them or the characteristic strips on the end of the tips. I have had BTA before and this just does not look like one. The reason I bought it is it was advertised as a aquarium raised clone and not a wild anemone. What ever it is, my clown loves it; took to it in the first 24 hours it was in the aquarium. The clown's interaction seems to have had a big positive effect on the nem; its looking great.

I updated the photo in the first post. Please take another look and see if this helps ID the nem. Thanks Geo

are there lines radiating out from the mouth?

In BTAs that I have had previously, the bubble at the tip of the tentacles had lines running from the mouth if that's what its called or the hole at the tip of the tentical down the bubble. The above nem has no bubbles and has no lines running down from the hole at the end of its tentacles.

Thats a BTA.. I have noticed if you have your BTA in lots of flow,it will not bubble. If its in a low current to no current...you will notice a better chance it will bubble. The problem is...Nems will go to where they are happy(flow, light etc...) so with all that said...it may never bubble and thats ok....as long as he is eatting and is happy. Again...your nem is a BTA. Injoy!

After a little research I came up with this photo of an H. Magnifica. This one is a lot larger then the nem I have but it sure looks identical.

As for the flow, its actually in a very low flow area. I think it stays there because of the Percula. I'm going to put a low flow power head in the area to give it more flow. Still, with the low flow, no bubbles. After coming up with the picture in my previous post, I am convinced its a H. Magnifica. Maybe that is the reason my Percula took to it so quickly, in 24 hrs after it was introduced into my tank. H. Magnifica is the anemone that Percula's host in the wild. For me, this is not good news. H. Mag. is a difficult anemone to keep healthy. My objective in looking for a nem was to find as easy a one as I could, i.e., Entacmaea Quadricolor or BTA. That is what I was told I was buying but after seeing it I am convinced it is not a BTA but a H. Mag.

George,
You anemoe looks like a typical BTA that is somewhat stressed. it doesnot look at all like a Magnifica. The color is also typical for E. quadricolor.
By far, 98+ chance, it is a E. quadricolor. I think it will do well in your tank.

Thanks for all the input; I hope the majority are right and its a BTA since I'm not equipped to keep a Magnifica healthy. Thanks again, 1geo

the lines i'm talking about are in the centre of the oral disc you can clearly see two of them as for the pic i believe that is a large version of what you have as far as keeping it if you are dilligent with your water parameters and have sufficient light and flow keeping it should'nt too much different than a bta
