I found this on my live rock. can anyone ID it for me. I think they are polyps but not sure. thanks

Looks like aiptaisia anemones to me. If it is you need to get rid of them.

Hard to tell for sure. Aiptasia is a possibility. My first thought was Hydroids. Id suggest kalk pasting them either way, as both animals have the potential to spread quickly and become a nuisance.

Do you know a rough idea of the size? Hard to tell without a point of reference.

Them hydroids. Get a screw driver and gouge them out. If you don't get the whole tube, you will have to do it again when they grow back.

they are very small. less then a 1/16" in diameter.

There are many different suggestions out there on how to get rid of the things, but I would try mixing up a fairly thick paste of water and kalkwasser powder and cover the little buggers up. Ive also seen super glue suggested, which Ive not tried yet but it makes sense to me too...

I had a smaller rock with those buggers on it. Ran it under scalding hot water until I couldn't take the pain anymore and they never came back. If you can remove the rock and maybe soak it...that is the smarter approach lol...
